THE PROCESS

We start by understanding your goals, aspirations, and functional requirements to develop a brief. This stage includes:
- Site analysis (topography, orientation, access, services)
- Contextual study of surrounding architecture, heritage, and landscape
- Assessment of planning controls, regulatory requirements, and budget
Initial feasibility studies to explore project potential and constraints
We develop design concepts that respond to your brief and site conditions. This stage focuses on:
- Spatial organisation, form, and circulation
- Materiality, light, and visual experience
- Integration of sustainability and environmental strategies
- Presentation of ideas through sketches, drawings, and preliminary 3D visualisations
This stage encourages collaborative feedback from clients and consultants to refine the design direction.
The preferred concept is refined into a coherent, detailed design. We:
- Coordinate with consultants (structural, mechanical, civil, landscape)
- Develop material palettes, finishes, and detailing
- Integrate heritage, environmental, and bushfire considerations where relevant
- Produce detailed 3D visualisations to communicate the evolving design
- Review costs and constructability to ensure the design aligns with project goals
Where required, we prepare and manage planning applications and approvals, including:
- Liaising with local councils and relevant authorities
- Preparing all supporting documentation, reports, and plans
- Coordinating input from consultants to streamline the approval process
We produce comprehensive documentation for building permits and construction contracts:
- Detailed architectural drawings, specifications, and schedules
- BIM coordination with all consultants for analysis and accuracy
- Updated 3D models to communicate design intent to stakeholders and contractors
We manage the procurement process to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and compliance:
- Tender documentation preparation and builder selection
- Contract negotiation and administration
- Cost monitoring and review to maintain budget and scope
- Liaison between client, contractors, and consultants
We continue our involvement through construction to ensure the design is delivered with integrity:
- Regular site inspections and reporting
- Coordination of protection work requirements
- Setout diagrams, review of items in line with construction program, work with subcontractors to develop fine de-
- tail, review of workmanship, materials, and design compliance
- Coordination of variations including unforeseen site challenges
- Final handover, including client orientation and documentation
To ensure the building performs as intended, we can provide:
- Post-occupancy evaluation of functionality and user experience
- Advice on maintenance, upgrades, or potential future modifications
- Feedback loop to inform future projects
