OUR PRACTICE

Lucy Architecture is an architecture and interior design studio in Richmond. Our practice specialises in contemporary, client driven, sustainable, innovative design. We offer a full range of architectural and consulting services and manage projects from conception through to building and completion. We work with BIM software to assess the site, communicate the design, as well as the documentation required for Town Planning and Building Permit compliance.

The first principle that we work from is a strong belief that the design of a building is a collaborative process with good communication being central to a positive outcome. We work closely with our clients and encourage input from them as well as from the consultants and building contractors. We believe this process leads to the design of buildings that are elegant, sophisticated, sensible, cost effective, enduring, and able to accommodate the changing needs of the occupiers.

Our considered response to site, context, affordability and program drives the evolution of each project. As we are a small firm, the personalised service that we offer means you will deal with the same people and develop a mutual working relationship throughout the project. Additionally, we have good connections with a number of excellent consultants and builders and have extensive experience in dealing with local councils and are familiar with local and state planning policy.

OUR TEAM

Lucy Tibbits

DIRECTOR
B. Arch, B. Pd

Our director, Lucy Tibbits is a registered Architect in Victoria with over 20 years experience in Australia and overseas. She has extensive experience working locally as well as regionally. She graduated from Melbourne University in the mid 1990’s and has been running her own architectural practice since 2002. In addition to her architectural practice work, Lucy has worked closely with a number of other architects on both residential and commercial projects.

Lucy has a strong interest in heritage architecture, visual art, and classical music as well as architecture.

Vidhi and Lucy met in 2010 at RBi Architects. They have worked together on various projects since then. Vidhi came to Lucy Architecture in 2019 after working at Rob Mills Architecture and has been instrumental in moving the practice over to BIM technology.

Vidhi completed her architecture degrees in her home state of Gujarat in North-west India. She is fluent in 3 languages and as well as having a finely tuned design aesthetic.

Jess came to Lucy architecture in 2020 after graduating her Bachelor of Design at Melbourne University, majoring in architecture with a minor in construction and specialisation in architecture history. Jess brings her refined and detailed sense of design and proportion to everything she does including material selections, communication and building modelling.

Having spent most of her childhood in Shanghai, Jess is fluent in Mandarin and enjoys exploring cultural influences in art and design.

Reza Safaeipour

Joining Lucy architecture in 2024, Reza has extensive international experience in designing documenting and 3D modelling, across a diverse portfolio of projects from residential to commercial. With his background in sustainable architecture, he contributes a high level of technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail to the practice.

Before relocating to Melbourne, Reza worked in Iran and New Zealand, honing his design sensibilities within a variety of cultural and architectural contexts.

Lauren joined Lucy Architecture in 2024 after completing her Bachelor of Design (Interiors), following her Bachelor of Architectural Design from RMIT in 2019. With a strong foundation in both architecture and interior design, Lauren’s approach combines technical precision with placemaking, contributing a thoughtful balance of functionality and style to each project.

A Melbourne local, she draws inspiration from the city’s evolving architectural character and enjoys exploring its diverse built environment.
